It all started when…

On June 27, 1988, a star was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Named Roody Petuel Dauphin, the young prodigy grew up in Cité Militaire. From a young age, Roody, a fatherless child and eldest of 3 children, had to grow up fast to help his brave mother cope with the needs of the family. In 2005, at 17 years old, his uncle Mario Dauphin introduced him to guitar. From this point forward, music became his escape to let off steam and to withstand difficult times. A few years later, in 2008, after hours of polishing his craft through performances in schoolyards to impress the crowd - especially the girls - Roody felt quite ready for the next step.

He entered Digicel Stars, a singing television competition in Haiti, where he finished in the top 10 finalists. Empowered by this experience, Roody decided to better prepare for his 2nd participation in the same contest, finishing 3rd in 2010. This latest accomplishment solidified his foundation as an artist, one that requires passion and dedication. Roody is endowed with extraordinary will and has a positive outlook on life. He believes that he can always draw a practical lesson from any situation.

The young talent stood out by winning multiple awards such as: Best New Artist in 2015 and Best Male Artist in 2016 by Ayiti Biyografi; Best Collaboration in 2016 for his piece "Special" and Best Compas Video in 2016 for his video "Karese'm La" and Best Performance in 2017 by the HMI Music Awards; Creole Artist of 2017 by Prestigious Haitian Music Awards. After collaborating with several teams and producers, in June 26, 2016, Roody released his first album entitled "Fòk Tèt Ou La" (Keep Your Head on Your Shoulders) independently under his own label GBME (Gwo bout Mizik Empire).

This album experienced a great success, thanks to the sensual video of the single "Karese'm La". Henceforth, Roody Roodboy became one of the most successful Haitian artists in 2016 - 2017 both in Haiti and abroad. Subsequ ently, other singles such as Lòbèy, Tranble (who was a mega hit), M'anvi Goute'w, Rest In Peace Makomè, Krazèd Fwaye, An Kachèt, Mimi Miaww, and Ou Pa Gen Parèy have kept him just as busy for the past 5 years as one of the most consistent and talented Artist and band member Haïti has to offer. Now Roody Roodboy is getting ready to present his second album to the public for Fall 2021.

The Journey has just begun!
